Public Resource Ambassadors
The Public Resource Ambassadors program promotes the value of public higher education to legislators in the state of Missouri. Volunteers in the program communicate with elected public officials regarding state appropriations for the UM-System, as well as non-budget issues as needed.
Public Resource Ambassadors have the opportunity to:
- Contact their personal representatives about the value and needs of the UM-System, via e-mail, letter, phone, or in person. For information on how to approach a legislator in person, please click here.
- Participate in UM-System Legislative Day at the Capitol building in Jefferson City each spring. Join Chancellor Schrader, members of the UM-System Alumni Alliance, and the Miner Alumni Association in a full day of events outlined here.
- Respond to "calls to action" from the Miner Alumni Association when institutional leaders ask alumni to contact their legislators about timely issues.
- Receive electronic newsletter updates pertaining to the status of legislative activity relevant to the UM-System.
